우분투 다시 날다!

<우분투 10.04 windows7 테마>

어제 피씨사랑 7월호를 보다가 아니 아침부터 그냥 우분투가 궁금해졌다.
알아보니 10.10 알파2까지 나와 있단다.
그래서 설치해 봤다.
그랬더니 윈도우7 부팅이 안 된다.
그래도 인터넷이 된다.
인터넷이 안 되어서 다시 윈도우로 돌아갔던 것인데.
우분투 좀 써 보자.
오랜만에 쓰니 반갑다.^^

10.10 알파2는 스샷이 없다.
10.04랑 거의 비슷한 것 같던데...

코분투 10.04_1 LTS (32비트 두번째)

우분투 10.04 (리눅스)/새소식 / 2010. 7. 6. 06:23


6월13일 새로만든 코분투 10.04_1을 공개 합니다.
원래는 시디로 제작하려고 코분투 10.04-1 32비트를 만들었습니다. 
그런데 한국정보통신산업진흥원에서 취소가 되었습니다.
32비트로만 만든 이유는 아직 32비트가 범용적으로 많이 쓰이며 문제 해결 및 사용이 용이하기 때문입니다.

패키지 업데이트 후 용량 문제와 한글 입력 문제로 조금 많이 작업하였습니다. (이번꺼가 19번째 ISO 입니다.)
이번 코분투 10.04-1은 전꺼보다 완성도가 높은 거 같습니다. 
최신까지 업데이트도 한 관계로, 새로 설치하거니 라이브 사용자 분들은 이번 10.04_1 이 더 편할것입니다.

    코분투 10.04와 다른점은

  1. 라이브에서 키맵 변경없이 한글입력 가능
  2. 라이브 로컬 타임 수정
  3. 우비 포함
  4. 코분투 메뉴얼 내장
  5. 6월7일 6월13일까지 패키지 업데이트 완료

다시 윈도우

어제 인터넷 가입 변경을 위해서 SK브로드밴드에서 다녀갔다.
동네유선에서 SK로 인터넷선을 변경했는데(하이컴이라는 회사가 우리를 SK로 넘겼다.)
작업을 하고 난 후에 갑자기 우분투를 설치한 컴퓨터 2대에서 유선, 무선 인터넷이 안되는 것이다.
노트북에 윈도우7을 설치해 놓아서 그걸로 인터넷이 되는지 확인하고 기사는 가 버렸는데 말이다.
이런 젠장 아무리 해도 안된다. 그래서 혹시나 하고 윈도우를 설치했더니 인터넷이 된다.
뭘까? 결국 다시 윈도우로 돌아왔다는 슬픈 이야기. ㅠ.ㅠ

티스토리, 다음 사진 첨부 플래시 문제 해결(파이어폭스)

티스토리나 다음 카페에서 사진을 올릴 때 플래시가 안 보이는 경우가 있다.
이 문제는 9.10부터 그랬던 것 같다.
오늘 확인해 보니 구글 크롬에서는 사진 올리기가 제대로 보이는데 파이어폭스에서는 제대로 보이지가 않는다.
우분투 한국 사용자 모임에서 문제를 해결하는 방법을 알아냈다.

다음 파일을 내려받은 후
invalid-file

터미널에서
sudo chmod 644 libflashplayer.so
sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins


파이어폭스를 재시작하면 제대로 보인다.

64비트용을 사용하고 있다면 아래 주소를 이용하자.

우분투 10.04에서 zip파일 한글 깨짐 문제 해결

*아래 글은 우분투 한국 사용자 모임에서 옮겨오거나 인용한 것입니다.

저는 개인적으로 zip파일에 한글명이 있을 경우에는 J-zip을 사용합니다.
약간 번거롭지만 kozip보다는 쉽게 사용이 가능하다고 생각했습니다.
그런데 우분투 사용자 모임에서 노틸러스를 이용해 압축을 풀 수 있는 방법이 있어 소개합니다.

먼저 노틸러스 확장 기능을 설치합니다.

$ sudo apt-get install nautilus-actions 

다음은 kozip 파일을 생성하는 것입니다.

$  sudo apt-get install libarchive-zip-perl
$ sudo gedit /usr/local/bin/kozip

으로 파일을 생성하여 
아래 내용을 저장합니다.

우분투 10.04에서 zip 파일 깨짐 현상 해결하기 - JZip 0.9 사용하기

음악 좀 들어보려고 zip  압축 파일 하나 구했는데, 압축 푸니까 제목이 다 깨져서 나오네요.
그래서 또 구글링 해보니 JZip이라는 좋은 프로그램이 있어 소개합니다!

프로그램 설명

    이 프로그램은 Zip 파일 포맷을 지원하는 압축 프로그램입니다.
    윈도우와 리눅스에서 사용가능합니다. (맥에서는 아직 제대로 테스트되지 않았습니다.)
   
    이 프로그램은 윈도우에서 사용하는 MS949 인코딩과 리눅스에서 사용하는 UTF8 인코딩을 모두
    지원하기 때문에, 윈도우나 리눅스에서 압축된 Zip 파일을 한글 파일명이 깨지는 문제 없이 풀 수 있으며,
    리눅스에서도 MS949로 인코딩한 Zip 파일을 생성할 수 있습니다.
   
    또한, 이 프로그램은 Zip 파일 외에도, Zip 파일과 같은 포맷을 사용하는 파일을 처리할 수 있습니다.
    Zip 파일과 같은 포맷을 사용하는 사용하는 파일에는 JAR(Java Archive)와 OpenDocument,
    Office Open XML 등이 있습니다.
   
    이 프로그램은 SWT(Standard Widget Toolkit)와 Apache Ant를 사용합니다.
    그리고 Tango 아이콘 테마와 File Roller의 아이콘을 사용합니다.

특징

    - 기본적인 zip 파일 압축 및 해제 기능
    - MS949 인코딩과 UTF8 인코딩을 둘 다 지원함
    - Java Web Start 기술을 이용하여 온라인에서도 바로 실행할 수 있음

실행

    먼저, 이 프로그램을 실행하려면 Sun Java(TM) Runtime Environment (JRE) 5 이상이 필요합니다.
    만약 JRE가 설치되어있지 않다면, http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp 에서 자신의
    플랫폼에 맞는 JRE를 설치하시기 바랍니다.
   
    이 프로그램은 Java Web Start 기술을 이용하여 온라인에서 바로 실행할 수 있습니다.
    윈도우와 32비트 리눅스에서만 테스트되었습니다. 맥에서는 안될 수도 있습니다.

    또한, http://kldp.net/frs/?group_id=1200 에서 해당 플랫폼에 맞는 패키지를 다운로드 받아
    실행할 수도 있습니다.
    다운로드 받은 파일의 압축을 풀면 JZip 디렉토리가 나오는데, 거기서 다음과 같은 명령으로 실행하시면 됩니다.
     
    java -jar JZip.jar (윈도우, 리눅스)
   
    java -XstartOnFirstThread -jar JZip.jar (맥)
   
    단, 이 때  JZip.jar, ant.jar, swt.jar 파일이 모두 같은 디렉토리 안에 들어있어야 합니다.
 
주의 사항

    - 이 프로그램은 모든 압축 파일을 MS949 인코딩으로만 저장(압축)합니다.
    - 압축 파일에 디렉토리를 더할 때, 모든 하위 디렉토리와 디렉토리에 포함된 파일들까지 더합니다.
    - 이 프로그램은 압축 파일 내에 포함된 항목들의 대/소문자를 구분합니다.
    - 이 프로그램은 윈도우와 리눅스에서만 테스트되었습니다.

소스 코드

    이 프로그램의 소스 코드는 JZip.jar 파일 안에 포함되어 있습니다.

개발 동기

    윈도우에서 압축한 Zip 파일을 리눅스에서 풀게 되면, 인코딩 문제로 인하여 한글 파일명이 모두 깨지게 됩니다.
    따라서 이러한 불편을 해소하기 위해, 리눅스에서 사용하는 UTF-8 인코딩과 윈도우에서 사용하는 MS949 인코딩을
    모두 지원하는 압축 프로그램을 개발하게 되었습니다.

개발 목표

    윈도우와 리눅스의 인코딩 차이로 인한 불편함 없이, Zip 파일을 쓸 수 있도록 하는 게 목표입니다.

새로운 토런트 프로그램 발견 - 큐비토런트(qbittorrent)

토런트는 다들 아실 것 같고.
우분투에 기본으로 설치되어 있는 토런트 프로그램은 Transmission입니다.
그런데 사용해보면 별로 좋지가 않죠.
그래서 대부분 Deluge BitTorrent 죠.
그런데 이번에 우분투K에서 스크립트를 하나 제공 받았는데
여기에 기본으로 큐비토런트를 사용하게 되어 있더군요.
써 보니 좋아서 소개합니다.



설치는 터미널에서

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hydr0g3n/ppa
$ sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com 47B4D1C4
$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install qbitorrent

하시거나
아래 사이트에서 내려받으시면 됩니다.

토템을 이용한 TV시청 방법입니다.


예) MBC 바탕화면에 바로가기 만들기

바탕화면 빈곳에 우클릭 -> 실행아이콘 만들기 -> 이름(N): MBC -> 명령어(A): totem mms://210.114.221.153/busanmbc_tv_onair_9826 -> 확인

우분투 10.04 오픈오피스 3.2에서 옛한글 입력하기

우분투에서 오픈오피스를 사용하면 웬만한 문서는 다 작성이 가능하다.
그런데 직업 특성상 옛한글(고어)을 입력해야 하는 경우가 생긴다.
이런 경우는 어쩔 수 없이 한컴의 한글 프로그램을 이용하게 된다.
하지만 우분투에서 옛한글 입력은 어려운 일이 아니다.

입력기를 '나비'로 바꾸고 '세벌식 옛한글'로 설정하면 된다.
 
하지만 세벌식 자판은 입력 속도는 빠르다고 하나 현재 대부분의 사람들이 두벌식 자판을 사용하기 때문에 입력이 어렵다. 그렇다고 세벌식을 연습할 수도 없고. 이번 기회에 연습해 두면 좋을 수도 있지만. 
그렇다면 필요할 때마다 자판을 설정해서 입력하면 되지 않을까?


위 자판의 배치를 확인하고 보면서 입력을 하면 된다. 필요할 때만. 옛한글 입력할 일이 뭐 그리 많겠는가. 갈색 부분은 종성이고 흰색 부분은 중성, 연푸른색 부분은 초성이다. 
세벌식은 초성, 중성, 종성의 순서로 입력을 해야한다는 것이다.
이 점만 유의한다면 옛한글도 쉽게 입력할 수 있을 것이다.

firefox 대용 swiftfox

파이어폭스가 의외로 메모리를 많이 차지하는 것 같다면 swiftfox 설치해 보시는 것도 괜찮을 듯합니다. 파이아폭스와 함께 사용가능하고 확장기는 그대로 적용됩니다.

Install bisigi themes in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid)

Open the terminal and run the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bisigi

우분투 설치 후 설정하기(작성 중)

어제 페도라 13 beta를 설치했다가 우분투 부트로더를 잃어버려서 밤새 10.04RC 버전으로 새로 깔았습니다. 페도라 13 베타르 설치해 보니 한글 2008 설치도 어떻게 하는지 모르겠고,
동영상 재생도 코덱을 받아서 설치를 못해서 제대로 실행이 안 되더군요.
결국 데스크탑용 리눅스는 우분투가 제격인 모양입니다.

이 글은 초보자를 위한 설명서라기 보다는 제가 매번 우분투를 새로 설치할 때마다 해야하는 설정을 이곳에 정리하여 한 번에 일목요연하게 설정하여 사용하기 위합입니다.

1. Dropbox 설치
getDropbox
nautilus-dropbox_0.6.2_i386.deb


2. 파이어폭스 - Adobe Flash Player 설치
getAdobe Flash Plyer
install_flash_player_10_linux.deb

3. Ubuntu-Tweak 설치

4. 노틸러스 설정
편집-기본설정에서
보기에서 숨김/백업 파일 보기, 아이콘 보기 기본값에서 빈틈없는 배치에 체크한다.

동작탭에서 휴지통-휴지통을 거치지 않는 삭제 명령 포함에도 체크한다.

표시탭에서 아이콘 설명의 첫번째 표시를 크기로 바꾸면 아래 그림처럼 파일의 크기를 노틸러스에서 바로 확인이 가능하다.

8. 이미지 뷰어 gThumb 설치
우분투 10.04를 설치하면 F-Spot 사진 관리자가 설치되어 있다.
간단한 이미지 뷰어 및 편집이 가능하다.
하지만 한 두 장이라면 괜찮지만 많은 사진을 일일이 수정하고 화질 개선을 하려니 좀 불편하다. 이럴 땐 gThumb를 사용하면 편다다.
설치는 터미널에서 간단하게 아래 명령어를 입력한다.
$ sudo apt-get install gThumb

Ctrl+Shitf+E를 누르면 Enhance(화질개선)가 실행된다.

피진이나 크롬, 오픈샷 같은 경우는 저도 사용하고 있고, 도키도 써봤는데

shotwell, zohoweboffice, viewnior(본 것 같은데)는 어떤 프로그램인지, 정말 좋은지 사용해 봐야겠습니다.^^


The default selection of applications in Ubuntu are great for most people but it would be foolish to think that one size fits all. To make it easier for you BLAH showing the most popular alternative to a default application…. install-on!

This list is by no-means exhaustive or definitive but presents the best like-for-like replacements.

Swap Empathy for Pidgin

Pidgin and Empathy are very similar – for example they both use the libpurple library for communicating with various different IM services.

Although Empathy can do most of what Pidgin can do (and in some cases a little bit more) many users yearn for the familiarity and extensibility of Pidgin. Swapping it out is painless as Pidgin uses the Messaging Menu and integrates well into the desktop.image

Swap PiTiVi for OpenShot

When PiTiVi was announced as a default application for Ubuntu 10.04 many users were happy that a stable and usable video editor was finally included by default.

Some users find that PiTiVi is too basic for their needs and want something with features like iMovie and entry-level video software for Windows. OpenShot provides just that.

Features, effects, easy

OpenShot boasts a massive line-up of features, video effects and editing tools – and it’s all in an interface that is very easy to use straight away.

Features include: -

  • Over 30 video effects, 28 transitions and 10 audio effects
  • Green-screen/Chrome Key support
  • Title editor
  • Dynamic Tiling
  • Simple export presets

Swap F-Spot with Shotwell

Shotwell is a great alternative to F-Spot. It has a more comprehensive photo editor/fixer and offers a keener way to organize a photo collection.

Organize your photos

Features include the ability to organize photos by date taken or by tags, upload them directly to Flickr, Facebook or Picasa and amongst the editing tools are rotate, crop, reduce red-eye, saturation, tint, and temperature.image[13]

Swap the bottom panel for a dock

If the bottom panel in Ubuntu isn’t flashy enough for you you could always swap it out for a dock. Selection_29(004)[3]

Docky is a great choice as it comes with applets for Gmail, weather, trash and session management, has application integration for many applications including Pidgin and Rhythmbox but most importantly it looks really good.' You can also have more than one Dock on the screen with Docky.

To remove your bottom panel just right click on it and choose ‘delete’

Swap OpenOffice for ZohoWebOffice

If you don’t use all of the fully featured office suite Ubuntu ships with you may wish to remove those applications you don’t use (Draw, Impress, etc).

Another alternative is to use either GoogleDocs or ZohoWebOffice. Both can be installed as shortcuts in Ubuntu although the later links to your browser rather than a standalone window.Selection_001[5]

Swap Firefox for Google Chrome*

Firefox, once the king of browsers, is fast being out paced and out performed by Google browser ‘Chrome’.

Although there are many other browser alternatives Google Chrome is one of the most popular and the one most users will find easy to ‘replace’ Firefox with; Chrome has thousands of extensions (adblockers, flashblockers, Gmail alerts, Last.fm radio, etc) all a restart-less install away.

It’s also worth noting that Google Chrome comes pre-installed with Flash so no more hunting down a flash installer: just open Chrome and YouTube, MySpace etc all work.

*Alternatively Chromium is available in the repositories.This lacks the Google branding and doesn’t come with flash pre-installed.

Totem For VLC

Totem movie player is not to everyone’s tastes and many people prefer to use VLC. Before you ditch Totem 'because you’re used to using VLC you should give it a go – it comes with many plug-ins such a built in subtitle downloader, YouTube browser and more.image

Rhythmbox for Banshee

Many users prefer Banshee for various reasons – Banshee has a graphical (almost iTunes-esque) way of managing/transferring content to MP3 players and supports most major mobile phones, it has different modes of viewing your library, a wider set of plug-ins and various online content integrated tools. It even has the UbuntuOne Music Store!

Default picture viewer for ViewNior

The default image viewer in Ubuntu is “okay”. there are, however, lighter, faster and better alternatives out there.

ViewNior is my favourite. It is speedy, responsive, supports most image formats and has some simple editing tools such as crop and rotate without needing to send the file to another application.

Sadly it’s not in the Ubuntu repositories but you can easily add it via the terminal using: -

  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xsisqox/ppa
  • sudo apt-get update && sudo aptitude install viewnior

터미널에서

$ sudo apt-get install gisomount

gisomount를 설치한다.
프로그램-시스템메뉴-gisomount 를 실행시키면


위 그림 프로그램이 실행된다.
브라우저를 눌러서 iso 이미지를 선택 후 'Monut'를 누르면
iso 마운트 끝!!


cobuntu 10.04 LTS iso 이미지를 마운트 해 봤다.^^

    처음 코분투로 라이브 부팅 및 설치 하는 분들에게...
    우분투 라이브(설치)시디는 squashfs라는 filesystem을 이용합니다. 이게 커다란 이미지 파일인데 아파일을 풀어서 라이브를 부팅하는 구조라서
    다른 배포판 보다 라이브 부팅 시간이 더 걸립니다. 700메가 크기(일반 시디 한장)를 유지하려는 우분투 제작직은 고려입니다.
    그러나 5분이상 기다려도 화면이 안뜬 다면 그건 컴퓨터에 설치 하기 힘든 구조 입니다. 이때는 부팅 초기에서

우분투 10.04 설치 후 해야할 일 10가지 -OMG Ubuntu 버전

If you’re going to be installing a freshly minted copy of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS later today or this weekend then the following list of 10 reader submitted post-install must-do’s will help ensure that you’re off to a flying start with your new OS. 

1. Run Update Manager

Just because you’ve installed the latest version of Ubuntu doesn’t mean that there won't be some updates and patches waiting for you. Make sure you run the update manager (if it doesn’t update you first) so that you’re benefitting from the latest fixes and features. 

2. Enable graphics card drivers for 3D fun

If you want to use advanced desktop effects such as Compiz (3d Cube, wobbly windows) then you will need to enable the “official” drivers for your graphics card.

Ubuntu should automatically detect and alert you that 3D drivers are available. If so, you will see a ‘circuit board’ icon appear on the top panel. Click this and follow the prompts.

If Ubuntu fails to detect any hardware (do be patient as this isn’t always instant) then you can manually run the hardware configuration tool yourself from the System > Preferences menu. 

3. Enable playback of MP3’s, MP4’s & more

It’s a shame this step has to be included at all but sadly Ubuntu aren’t allowed by law to ship certain multimedia codec's out of the box. Installing them yourself, thankfully, is a breeze – just click the button below!image

4. Install more themes

Want a bigger selection of themes to choose between? You’ll find many beautiful and stylish ones in the Community Themes package.

5. Change font and/or font size

I know what you’re thinking: those fonts look huge, huh? Set them to a smaller size via the Appearance menu (Shortcut: Right click on Desktop > Change Background > Fonts).

Most readers find size 9pt works well but if you have a very wide display 8pt may suit you better. 
If the default font isn’t to your taste a lot of readers suggested installing DroidSans.imageMany users also recommend you install the Microsoft Core fonts package for better web browsing:

6. Set up UbuntuOne file sync

If you don’t already use UbuntuOne now is the perfect time to do so. You'll get 2 GB of free storage, you are able to sync your Firefox bookmarks, Tomboy notes and Evolution contacts between computers – as well as any file or folder you wish.

Head to Applications > Internet > UbuntuOne to get started. 

7. Install Ubuntu Tweak and make your life easier

Ubuntu Tweak is a one-stop shop for managing and installing extra applications, tweaking your desktop (such as putting the window controls back on the right and choosing which icons show on the desktop) and allowing you to keep your system in tip-top shape with the built in system cleaning options. (Ubuntu tweak recently won our ‘Best System Cleaners’ poll by a landslide – and for good reason!)

8. Visit the Software Centre to find great apps

One size certainly does not fit all so if you’re wanting to add VLC, install Photoshop rival The GIMP or play some awesome games then look no further than the Ubuntu Software Centre which can be launched from the Applications menu.

Everything is one-click install so browse around – make sure you check out the featured applications section, too!

9. Download the Ubuntu Manual

The “Ubuntu Manual” (which is actually called ‘Getting Started with Ubuntu 10.04’ but Manual sounds cooler) is a fantastic source of information for both newcomers and those who consider themselves apt with Ubuntu.

It has a straight-forward and easily accessible style, lots of screenshots and step-by-step instructions how how to get the best out of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.image

10. Enjoy using it!

Forget about finding new apps or tweaking some part of Lucid for an hour or so and just use Ubuntu like anyone else would: Browse the net, chat on Empathy, type up that letter in Open Office and listen to something awesome in Rhythmbox.

Enjoy the awesomeness of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS as your survey your desktop like you are a king surveying your estate. Look at the woodland, the peacocks on the lawn. Be the king of your own calm kingdom.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx)

This directory contains the most frequently downloaded Ubuntu images. Other images, including DVDs and source CDs, may be available on the cdimage server. See also the list of download mirrors.

Select an image

Ubuntu is distributed on four types of images described below.

Desktop CD

The desktop CD allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This type of CD is what most people will want to use. You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this CD.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) desktop CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Server install CD

The server install CD allows you to install Ubuntu permanently on a computer for use as a server. It will not install a graphical user interface.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) server install CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) server install CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Alternate install CD

The alternate install CD allows you to perform certain specialist installations of Ubuntu. It provides for the following situations:

  • setting up automated deployments;
  • upgrading from older installations without network access;
  • LVM and/or RAID partitioning;
  • installs on systems with less than about 256MB of RAM (although note that low-memory systems may not be able to run a full desktop environment reasonably).

In the event that you encounter a bug using the alternate installer, please file a bug on the debian-installer package.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) alternate install CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) alternate install CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Netbook live CD

The live CD allows you to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This live CD is optimized for netbooks with screens up to 10". You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this CD.

There is one image available:

PC (Intel x86) netbook live CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.

Netbook live image

The live image allows you to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This live image is optimized for netbooks with screens up to 10". You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this image.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

Marvell Dove netbook live image
For Dove boards.
Freescale i.MX51 netbook live image
For i.MX51 boards.

Umarks 2 is Backup and restore Ubuntu installed packages on multiple machines, on a single machine after a clean install of Ubuntu or to restore a previous selection of packages.
Features

The extension allows to generate lists of installed Ubuntu packages, that you can export to your desktop, then import into another Ubuntu system running Firefox and Umarks. It can also be used as a application restoration system, since you can store multiple backups in the same machine. The extension will also get deb packages from the backup cache, if available, or download the missing ones before installing. Packages that are already installed on the target system, but weren’t installed when/where the backup was created, are automatically removed, allowing you to replicate the same collection of applications on multiple systems or restoring your favorite applications after a clean install of Ubuntu.

Additional Features

* display information about which packages from a backup will be installed and which will be removed from the target machine
* provides web search functionality, so you can easily find info about each package
* allows to install or removes packages individually
* allows to backup and restore ppa repositories sources
* allows to download packages to the cache any time you want and install them individually

패널 삭제시 복구 방법

터미널에서 아래와 같이 치면 복구가 된답니다...


$gconftool-2 –shutdown
$rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/panel
$pkill gnome-panel


홈폴더에서 ~/.gconf/apps/panel 를 삭제해주신 다음 재부팅해도  해결 된답니다.

우분투 재설치(배포판 업) 시 포맷 안하고 빨리 설치 하기

*아래 글은 우분투 한국 사용자 모임의 강분도님의 게시물입니다.

간단히 말하자면 라이브로 부팅후 개인 파일만 뻬고 나머진 싹 지우고 설치 하기 입니다.

  1. 현재 설치된 패키지 목록 저장
    • sudo dpkg --get-selections | grep -v deinstall > /home/install.txt

  2. 라 이브 부팅후 터미널에서 보존 파일 백업
    • sudo -i (루트 변신)
    • mount /dev/sd?? /mnt && cd mnt (리눅스 설치된 파티션 마운트)
    • mv /mnt/home/유저아이디 /mnt/home/유저아이디-bak (개인 홈 백업)
    • 그외에 다른 폴더에 개인 파일 들이 있다면 역시 백업을 ... 예) mv /mnt/usr/local/bin /mnt/home/usr/local/bin , ...
    • rm -rf bin etc initrd.img lost+found sbin tmp var boot lib opt root usr vmlinuz (기존 폴더 & 파일 지우기)
    • cd / && umount /dev/sd?? (언 마운트)

  3. 설치진행
    • 아까 마운트한 sd?? 선택 후 파 티션 포멧에 체크 뻬고 마운트 지점을 / 로 지정하며 설치... (이부분이 중요합니다.)

  4. 설치 후 재부팅 하여
    • sudo dpkg –-set-selections < /home/install.txt (이전에 설치한 패키지 재설치)
    • 노틸러스 에서 백업된 /home/유저아이디-bak 에서 가져오면서 새 우분투에 필요한 것들을 설정합니다.

나 중 전부 완료 되면 /home/유저아이디-bak 는 지워도 되겠죠
