DamnVid is a cross-platform application to download and convert videos from your hard drive or from dozens of video sharing websites like YouTube, Dailymotion, Veoh, Metacafe, etc. Basically, it's a video downloader and converter that sucks less.

What is DamnVid?

* A video converter, first and foremost. It makes use of the wonderful FFmpeg library, used in other software like VLC Media Player orGoogle Chrome.
* A video downloader. While DamnVid can convert local video files just fine, it can also download video streams from most video sharing websites. But what gives it the edge over other video downloaders and converters is that not only it does both the downloading and the converting, but it does them at the same time: it converts as it downloads, making the whole process much faster.
* A cross-platform software that sucks less.

What isn't DamnVid?

* A video editor. While it can do basic things like change the resolution, aspect ratio, or volume of the video, DamnVid is by no means a video editor.
* A video player. DamnVid never plays anything.
* A media library. DamnVid organizes its videos into customizable folders, but it stops there.
* A DVD ripper.
* A stable program. Seriously. It just sucks less. Everything is relative.

Install Damnvid in Ubuntu

First you need to download latest version of .deb from here now you need to install this .deb package by double clicking or using the following command from your terminal

sudo dpkg -i damnvid_1.5-1_i386.deb

Skins

How to use these skins?

Skins do not work on Mac OS X!
Put the downloaded VLT files in the following folder:

On Windows: the skins folder in the VLC installation directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\VLC\skins)
On Linux/Unix: ~/.local/share/vlc/skins2

Then open your VLC settings and change your interface from native to skins. You can choose your desired skin already there or change it when you are in the skins mode by rightclicking somewhere on the skin and going to Interface>Choose Skin.
VLC needs to be restarted to change to skins mode.

우분투 9.10에서 음악파일 변환하기

터미널 열고

$ sudo aptitude install nautilus-script-audio-convert

를 입력해주거나, 시맨틱 패키지 관리자를 실행하고 ' nautilus-script-audio-convert'를 찾아 설치해줍니다.

다음과 같은 인코딩, 디코딩용 파일 중에서 필요한 것을 터미널이나 시냅틱 패키지 관리자를 통해 설치해줍니다.
- lame : mp3 파일용

$sudo apt-get install lame

- vorbis-tools : ogg 파일용

$sudo apt-get install vorbis-tools

- flac : flac 파일용

$sudo apt-get install flac

- faac,faad -- aac, m4a, mp4 파일용

$sudo apt-get install faac

여기까지 하셨으면 일단 필요한 파일들의 설치는 완료된 것입니다.
그러면 사용법을 알아봐야겠죠. 매우 간단합니다.

우 분투의 파일 관리자 프로그램인 노틸러스(nautilus)에서 음악 파일이 있는 폴더를 열고 변환할 파일을 마우스 오른쪽 버튼으로 클릭을 하면 '스크립트(S)'라는 부 메뉴가 생긴 것을 볼 수 있을 것입니다. 다음 그림을 참조하세요.

위 그림처럼 '스크립트(S)' 메뉴에서 'ConvertAudioFile'을 선택하면 다음과 같은 작은 창이 열립니다.

변환할 파일 포맷을 클릭하여 선택하고 확인 버튼을 누르면 다시 다음과 같은 창이 열리죠.

이것은 음악 파일의 태그를 어떻게 넣을지 정해주는 것입니다. 태그를 입력하지 않을 것이면 윗놈을 체크, 새로 입력하고 싶으면 아랫놈을 체크하면 되겠죠. 확인을 클릭하면 또 창이 열립니다.

요놈은 변환될 음악 파일의 품질을 정해주는 것입니다. 숫자가 클수록 품질이 좋아지는 반면 파일 크기는 커지겠지요. 적당한 놈을 선택해주고, 확인을 눌러주면 드디어 변환이 시작됩니다.

변 환 속도도 빠른 편이고, 다중 선택을 하여 여러개의 파일을 변환할 수도 있는 등 사용하기에 큰 문제는 없는 듯합니다. 다만 윈도우 미디어 플레이어의 포맷인 wma를 읽어서 다른 포맷으로 바꿀 수는 있는데, wma 파일로 바꾸지는 못하더군요. 블로그에 음악 올리려면 wma 파일이 편한데 말이죠... 혹시 mp3 등을 wma 로 바꾸는 방법을 아시면 (물론 우분투에서) 가르쳐주시기 바랍니다.

수업시간에 사용할 동영상을 편집하려고 여러가지 설치해서 사용해 봤는데
잘 안되었다.
최근에 알게된 오픈샷(OpenShot)은 사용하기 편한 인터페이스지만 사용은 불편했다.
그러다가 Kdenlive를 설치해서 사용해 봤는데 좋다.
잘 된다. 그래서 추천합니다.^^

1. 설치
설치는 소프트웨서센터에서 음악과 비디오에서 Kdenlive로 검색 후 설치하시면 됩니다.

2. 사용
설치 후 프로그램-음악과 비디오에 들어가셔서 Kdenlive를 실행시키시면 위 사진과 같이 실행됩니다.
사용법은 딱 보시면 아실 듯.

OpenShot Video Editor has not released an "official" version yet. We are still in development. But that doesn't mean you can't install it. If you are interested in installing OpenShot (and don't mind a few bugs), there are now 3 ways to install it, a PPA, DEB Installer, and Build Wizard.

오픈샷 설치 후
/usr/local/share/openshot/main/language디렉토리에 ko_KR 디렉 만든 후 ko_KR 디렉에 LC_MESSAGES 디렉토리 또 만들어
에 위 첨부 파일이 OpenShot.mo 로 이름 바꾸어 존재 하면 한국어 우분투 환경에서 OpenShot 한국어로 나옵니다.
/usr/local/share/openshot/main/language/ko_KR/LC_MESSAGES 입니다

우분투 9.04에서 Audacious로 MP3 듣기 + 연주목록 한글화 제대로 표시하기

* 아래 글은 우분투 한국 사용자 모임에서 가져왔습니다.

Audacious
Windows의 Winamp와 같은 리눅스 어플리케이션입니다.
Audacious는 Winamp의 스킨과 EQ설정을 그대로 사용할 수 있으며
스킨의 버튼 하나하나 까지도 모두 지원합니다.
우분투의 음악재생기는 리듬박스가 있습니다. 그 외 리눅스의 음악재생기 종류는
여러가지가 있는데, 대표적으로 Amarok이 있습니다. 하지만 리듬박스와
Amarok은 한글설정에 어려움이 따르고 Audacious에 비해서 조금은 무겁습니다.
Audacious는 가볍고 Winamp의 인터페이스를 그대로 사용해서 Windows에서
우분투로 넘어오신 유저분이 라면 거부감 없이 사용할 수 있으며, 한글설정이
쉽다는 장점이 있습니다.

1 .설치방법

1. 추가/제거 에서 Audacious를 검색 후 설치 하시면 됩니다.

2. 터미널에서 aptitude install audacious 명령을 치시면 설치가 됩니다.

2. 한글설정

Audacious를 실행 합니다.

Ctrl + P 를 누르시거나 Audacious의 위에 마우스 커서를 놓고 오른쪽 클릭 하신후 Peferences를 클릭합니다

창이 뜨면 위의 표시한 부분을 체크 해제해 줍니다.
위의 선택을 해제해 주셔야만 한글이 보이게 됩니다.

빨간 네모칸의 형식대로 custom을 선택 하시고 customstring 에서 %f를 써주시면
테그를 읽지 않고 파일명 형식으로 표현 됩니다.
제목형식이 artist-album-title 로 되어 있으면 tag의 정보를 그대로 읽어옵니다.
따라서, tag가 EUC-KR인 경우 깨져서 보이게 됩니다.

+ 글씨체는 마음에 드는 것으로 바꿔주시면 됩니다.

3. Winamp의 EQ설정 파일 가져와 사용하기

Winamp에 보시면 EQ설정 파일을 저장할 수 가 있습니다.
저 같은 경우는 프리셋에서 라이브로 맞춰서 듣고있습니다.
Windows에서 윈엠프를 사용하신다면 EQ설정을 하시고 EQ설정파일을
저장할 수가 있는데 그 파일을 읽어들여 그대로 EQ설정이 되는 것입니다.
정말 세세한 것까지 Winamp와의 호환을 이루는 Audacious입니다.

이퀄라이저의 presets 버튼을 클릭하시고 읽기에서WinAMP EQF 에서.. 를 클릭 합니다.
저장하신 경로에 EQF파일을 선택하시고 열기를 누르시면 EQ의 그래프가 바뀌시는 것을 볼 수 있습니다.
그리고 on을 눌러주시면 됩니다.

우분투에서 동영상 인코더를 자유롭게 해 봅니다.

9.04 사용자라면 터미널에서 아래 순서로 설치하세요.

wget --quiet --output-document=- "http://winff.org/ubuntu/AAFE086A.gpg" | sudo apt-key add

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install winff

sudo apt-get install libavcodec-unstripped-52

곰인코더 부럽지 않다! 동영상 변환기 WinFF (FFmpeg)

우분투 10.04 (리눅스)/멀티미디어 / 2008. 12. 1. 23:37

MS 윈도에서 흔히 많이 쓰는 곰인코더, 바닥, 유마일 인코더 등등 많은 동영상 변환 프로그램이 존재합니다. 그럼 우분투 리눅스에는 없는것인가? 아니죠. 존재합니다. 대표적으로 mencoder와 FFmpeg이 있습니다. 둘다 기본적으로 CUI방식으로 실행되지만 둘다 GUI 프론트 엔드가 존재합니다. 그중 FFmpeg을 사용한 WinFF를 소개해보겠습니다. (mencoder는 Gmencoder가 있습니다.)

1. 설치

우선 미디분투에서 FFmpeg을 설치하여야 합니다. 다음 링크에서 미디분투 저장소를 추가해주세요.

FFmpeg을 설치 합니다.

$sudo apt-get install ffmpeg

WinFF 다운로드 를 합니다.

WinFF 0.42 Debian / Ubuntu Package for I386 1.2mb
WinFF 0.42 Debian / Ubuntu Package for Amd64 1.3 mb

다운 받은 Deb 파일을 실행하여 설치를 완료합니다.

2. 사용 방법

프로그램 > 음악과 비디오 > WinFF 실행

실행화면 입니다. ADD 버튼을 클릭하여 변환 시킬 동영상을 추가 할수 있고 하단의 'Convert To...'에서 변환되어 만들어질 동영상의 형식을 지정할수 있습니다.

환경설정에 들어가시면 위 화면의 체크박스에 'Multithreading for Dual Core Processors' 항목을 체크해 주시면 듀얼코어 CPU를 활성화 할수 있습니다.

'Convert' 버튼을 누르면 변환 작업이 시작됩니다. 완료가 되면 Enter 키를 입력하면 마무리가 되며 지정한 경로에 동영상 파일이 생기게 됩니다.
