    처음 코분투로 라이브 부팅 및 설치 하는 분들에게...
    우분투 라이브(실치)시디는 squashfs라는 filesystem을 이용합니다. 이게 커다란 이미지 파일인데 아파일을 풀어서 라이브를 부팅하는 구조라서
    다른 배포판 보다 라이브 부팅 시간이 더 걸립니다. 700메가 크기(일반 시디 한장)를 유지하려는 우분투 제작직은 고려입니다.
    그러나 5분이상 기다려도 화면이 안뜬 다면 그건 컴퓨터에 설치 하기 힘든 구조 입니다. 이때는 부팅 초기에서
    F4 눌러 표준 모드 선택 부팅 또는 그냥 설치하기로 넘어가 보시기 바랍니다.

우분투 10.04에서 DVD rip 하기

우분투에서 dvd rip은 Acidrip DVD Ripper 가 좋은 것 같습니다.

소프트웨어 센터에서 acid를 입력하면

위 사진처럼 프로그램이 나타납니다. 그러면 오른쪽에 설치를 누르면 알아서 설치가 됩니다.
설치가 끝나면 프로그램-음악과 비디오에서 Acidrip DVD Ripper를 실행시킵니다
오른쪽 Video source에서 Road를 누르면 소스가 나타납니다.
그 중에서 하나를 고르고
설정을 끝낸 후 Start를 누르면 추출이 시작됩니다..



Dvd 추출 중입니다.
rip이 끝나면 설정하신 폴더에 파일이 추출되어 있습니다.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) Release Candidate

This directory contains the most frequently downloaded Ubuntu images. Other images, including DVDs and source CDs, may be available on the cdimage server. See also the list of download mirrors.

Select an image

Ubuntu is distributed on four types of images described below.

Desktop CD

The desktop CD allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This type of CD is what most people will want to use. You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this CD.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) desktop CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Server install CD

The server install CD allows you to install Ubuntu permanently on a computer for use as a server. It will not install a graphical user interface.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) server install CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) server install CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Alternate install CD

The alternate install CD allows you to perform certain specialist installations of Ubuntu. It provides for the following situations:

  • setting up automated deployments;
  • upgrading from older installations without network access;
  • LVM and/or RAID partitioning;
  • installs on systems with less than about 256MB of RAM (although note that low-memory systems may not be able to run a full desktop environment reasonably).

In the event that you encounter a bug using the alternate installer, please file a bug on the debian-installer package.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) alternate install CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) alternate install CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Netbook live CD

The live CD allows you to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This live CD is optimized for netbooks with screens up to 10". You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this CD.

There is one image available:

PC (Intel x86) netbook live CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.

Netbook live image

The live image allows you to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This live image is optimized for netbooks with screens up to 10". You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this image.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

Marvell Dove netbook live image
For Dove boards.
Freescale i.MX51 netbook live image
For i.MX51 boards.

Install/live DVD
The combined install/live DVD allows you either to install Ubuntu permanently on a computer, or (by entering 'live' at the boot prompt) to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all.
There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:


PC (Intel x86) install/live DVD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) install/live DVD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.
A full list of available files, including BitTorrent files, can be found below.

우분투 10.04 에 오픈오피스 3.2 한자사전 설치하기

오픈오피스 3.2/라이터(Writer) / 2010. 4. 23. 14:34

1. 파일을 다운로드받아 압축을 풉니다. 
2. 메뉴에서 [도구] → [언어] → [한글/한자 변환] 
(뭔가 변환할 단어가 존재해야 대화상자가 뜰 겁니다) 
3. 대화상자에서 [옵션] 버튼 누름 
4. 사용자 정의 사전 대화상자에서 [새로 만들기...] 누르고 
이름을 'Hanja'로 준 다음에 [확인] 누르고 대화상자를 빠져 나옴. 
이렇게 하면, 우분투(리눅스)의 경우
/home/사용자계정/.openoffice.org/3/user/wordbook  
디렉터리 아래에 Hanja.tcd 파일이 생깁니다.

5. OOo를 종료하고 빠른 실행까지 다 종료한 다음에 Hanja.tcd 파일을 첨부된 파일로 바꿉니다. 
6. 다시 OOo를 실행시키고 한글/한자 변환을 합니다. 
이 때 대화상자에서 [한 글자씩 변환] 옵션을 끄면 사전을 쓸 수 있습니다.

우분투 10.04에서 한글 pdf 파일 제대로 인쇄하기

구글 캘린더에서 일정표를 인쇄하려고 하니까 잘 안되더군요.
윈도우에서는 Adobe Reader를 이용해서 바로 인쇄가 가능했습니다.
우분투에는 문서보기(evince)라는 프로그램이 기본적으로 설치되어 있어서 pdf 파일을 열어보고 출력도 할 수 있습니다.
며칠전에 우분투 포켓 가이드라는 pdf 파일을 인쇄했는데 잘 됐습니다.
생각해 보니 그건 전부 영어였습니다.
구글캘린더의 한글로 된 일정표를 인쇄하려고 Adobe Reader 8 리눅스용도 설치해 봤습니다.
아래 포스트 참고 하시면 될 것 같네요.
어도브 리더 설치하니까 보이기는 잘 보입니다.
근데 역시 인쇄를 하면 한글은 깨지고 숫자와 영어는 잘 나옵니다.
그래서 다시 구글링 했습니다.
결론은 poppler-data를 설치해야한다는 것.

우분투 한국 사용자 모임에서 얻은 정보입니다.

$ sudo apt-get install poppler-data

설치하고 나니 한글 파일도 잘 보이고, 인쇄도 잘 됩니다.

우분투 10.04에 피카사 3.0 (Picasa 3.0) 설치하기

리눅스용 피카사는 3.0 베타가 사이트에 올라와 있지만 눌러보면 내려받기가 안 된다.
그리고 전에 3.0 베타를 내려받아 놓은 게 있어서 설치해 봤는데 한글 설정이 안 되었다.
2.7은 한글 설정이 되었다.
하여튼 3.0이 올라왔으니 한번 설치해 보자.

1. 먼저 시스템-관리-소프트웨어 소스-기타 소프트웨어 탭-+추가 를 눌러 


deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free

deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ testing non-free

를 추가한다.


2. 다음 아래 인증 키를 내려받은 다음

linux_signing_key.pub
인증-+키 파일 가져오기 를 눌러 파일을 등록한다.

그리고 닫기를 누르면 업데이트가 이루어진다.


3. 이제 터미널을 실행시키고


$sudo apt-get update
$sudo apt-get install picasa

피카사를 설치한다.


자 이제 그럼 싷행을 시켜보자.

피카사는 프로그램-그래픽에 메뉴가 들어가 있는데 피카사를 실행하기 전에

먼저 한글 글꼴을 설정해 주어야 한글메뉴를 제대로 볼 수 있다.


1. 프로그램-그래픽-Picasa-Picasa Font Settings 를 누르면 아래 경고가 뜹니다. 간단히 'Yes' 를 누르고 


2. 폰트 셋팅에서 Add를 눌러 원하는 폰트(글꼴)를 설치합니다.


저는 서울 남산체를 설치했습니다.



사용할 글꼴을 선택 후 OK를 눌러주면 폰트 설정 끝!!



자, 이제 본격적으로 피카사 3.0 베타를 사용해 보겠습니다.


1. 프로그램-그래픽-Picasa-Picasa 를 선택하시면 아래 보시는 것처럼 피카사 3.0 베타가 실행됩니다.

 

2. 다음은 라이센스에 동의하라고 합니다. 동의하시면 됩니다. Next, I Agree 하면 되죠.^^


3. 드디어 피카사 3.0 베타가 실행되었습니다.


내 컴퓨터의 사진을 불러들이고 있습니다.

알려진 문제:

  • 작업 표시줄에서 초점이 이동되면 닫히지 않습니다. 미디어 디텍터 메뉴를 불러온 경우 메뉴를 사라지게 하려면 Picasa를 시작하거나 미디어 디텍터를 중지해야 합니다.
  • 이 버전의 Linux용 Picasa는 동영상 파일을 지원하지 않습니다.

우분투 10.04용 네이트온 메신저

아침에 피진을 실행시키니까 어제까지는 잘 되던 놈이 잘 안되어서 혹시나 하고 네이트온 사이트에 들어가봤더니 이런이런 10.04용 설치파일이 올라와 있구나.ㅋㅋㅋ 얼른 설치해 봤더니 설치도 잘 됩니다.^^

우분투 10.04에서 스크린렛으로 날씨 위젯 사용하기

스크린렛에서는 ClearWeather이라는 날씨위젯이 있다.
먼저 아래 그림처럼 스크린렛을 실행시킨 후 Clearweather을 설치한다.

그러면 아래 그림과 같은 위젯이 나타난다.
날씨가 표시되지 않는다고 실망하기는 이르다.
zip code를 입력해 주지 않아서 표시가 되지 않을 뿐이다.

그러면 위젯에 마우스를 대고 오른쪽 버튼을 누른후
맨 위의 zipcode를 선택후 아래 국내 지역 코드에서 해당하는 지역의 code를 복사하여 입력해 본다.
본인은 울산에 거주하므로 울산 코드를 입력한다.

확인을 누르면 아래 그림처럼 날씨가 표시되는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

크기가 작다고 생각된다면 다시 위젯에서 오른쪽 마우스 버튼 클릭후 size에서 적당한 크기를 조절하면 된다.
일주일을 모두 표시할 수도 있고, 미니모드로 오늘 날씨만 표시할 수도 있다.

우분투 10.04에서 unzip 파일명 한글 깨짐 문제 해결

unzip 6.0 CP949 문제 ( reandr )
MS에서 압축한 한글 파일명을 풀려할 때 
unzip 6.0은 깨져 풀리게 되는데 reandr님에 제시한 방법이 제일 유용하다 봅니다.

터미널서 sudo gedit /usr/local/bin/kozip 으로 파일 생성하여 내용을

MS 한글명 들어간 압축 풀 때에는
kozip MS압축파일.zip 으로 압축 풀기 해주시면 됩니다.

컴퓨터를 새로 구입할까 생각 중이라 '다이나시스'에서 우분투 설치된 컴퓨터를 판매하던 생각이 나서 홈페이지에 들어가보니 쇼핑몰이 없어졌더군요. (아님 제가 못 찾는 것인지도...)
하여간 소프트웨어 소개만 되어 있어서 잠깐 봤는데 '다이나 리눅스 1.5 R3' 버전이라고
오픈오피스 3.2에 파이어폭스 6.3이 설치되어 있다고 해서 한번 설치해 봤습니다.
설치해 봤더니 우분투 버전은 9.04네요. 일단 집에서 쓰던 컴 딸래미(7살) 줄 때 깔아보면 어떨까 하고
시험삼아 먼저 깔아 봤습니다.

DamnVid is a cross-platform application to download and convert videos from your hard drive or from dozens of video sharing websites like YouTube, Dailymotion, Veoh, Metacafe, etc. Basically, it's a video downloader and converter that sucks less.

What is DamnVid?

* A video converter, first and foremost. It makes use of the wonderful FFmpeg library, used in other software like VLC Media Player orGoogle Chrome. 
* A video downloader. While DamnVid can convert local video files just fine, it can also download video streams from most video sharing websites. But what gives it the edge over other video downloaders and converters is that not only it does both the downloading and the converting, but it does them at the same time: it converts as it downloads, making the whole process much faster. 
* A cross-platform software that sucks less.

What isn't DamnVid?

* A video editor. While it can do basic things like change the resolution, aspect ratio, or volume of the video, DamnVid is by no means a video editor. 
* A video player. DamnVid never plays anything. 
* A media library. DamnVid organizes its videos into customizable folders, but it stops there. 
* A DVD ripper. 
* A stable program. Seriously. It just sucks less. Everything is relative.

Install Damnvid in Ubuntu

First you need to download latest version of .deb from here now you need to install this .deb package by double clicking or using the following command from your terminal

sudo dpkg -i  damnvid_1.5-1_i386.deb

우분투 10.04베타에 Docky 설치

전에 AWN 도 설치해 보고 Dock 프로그램도 설치하고 했었는데
OpenSea 블로그 글을 보고 Docky를 설치해 봤습니다.
그리고 느려지는 버그도 수정이 된다고 해서 설정도 해 봤습니다.
쓰면서 추가하겠습니다.

# Docky 설치

 터미널에서 $sudo apt-get install Docky
후 프로그램 - 보조프로그램 - Docky 실행

# Docky가 느려지는 버그는 다음과 같이 설정하면 된다고 합니다.(출처 : OpenSea)


시스템 - 기본설정 - 시작 응용 프로그램 에서 Docky 편집으로 들어가 그림처럼 수정하시고 저장하시면 끝입니다.^^

Getdeb is an Ubuntu software portal with ready-to-install applications in Ubuntu's default .deb package format.getdeb.net was created to make it easy for Ubuntu users to install the latest versions of Free/Open Source applications quickly and easily 
How to add getdeb repository in to  ubuntu 10.04

Go to System-Administration-Software Sources, Third-Party Software tab, Add:

deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu lucid-getdeb apps

Add the repository GPG key, open a terminal window and type:

wget -q -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -

Click the “Install this now” button below the screenshot of the desired application.

Playdeb , the repository of games for Ubuntu has been launched in 1st september 2008.who package recent games and applications for Ubuntu. With Playdeb, games are easy to install and will be updated when new versions are available.Playdeb includes an APT software repository, and a games list that can be used to install games simply by clicking an install link.

How to add playdeb repository in to ubuntu 10.04

Go to System-Administration-Software Sources, Third-Party Software tab, Add:

deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu lucid-getdeb games

우분투 10.04에 '한컴오피스 2008 리눅스' 설치하기

우분투 10.04 '한글2008' 설치하기 



1. 여기에 들어가서 한글 2008을 산다.(체험판을 써보다가 꼭 살 분은 요기에서 체험판을 받는다.)

2. root로 하겠다.(된다면 터미널에서 하는 번거러움이 없었으면 좋겠지만, 어쩔 수 없다.^^)
desktop:~$ sudo -s
Password:   (비번을 쓴다.)

3. alien이 없으면 alien을 깐다.(alien이 있으면 이 단계는 넘어간다.)
desktop:~# apt-get install alien

4. 한글 2008 CD를 넣고 모든 꾸러미를 하드로 복사한다.
 바탕화면에 "hwp2008"이라는 방을 만들어 그리로 복사했다. 아래는, 그 기준으로 설명한다.

5. RPM 꾸러미를 복사한 방에 가서 잘 복사했는지 본다.

6. alien으로 rpm들을 deb으로 바꾼다.
alien -k *.rpm

7. deb 꾸러미를 깐다.
dpkg -i *.deb

8. 구글에서 getlibs-all.deb을 검색하여 깐다. 
   첨부 꾸러미 1 :getlibs-all.deb

9. 아래 라이브러리를 깐다.
desktop:~/바탕화면/hwp2008/RPMS# getlibs -l libqt-mt.so.3

10. 링크를 걸어준다.
desktop:~/바탕화면/hwp2008/RPMS# ln -s /usr/lib/libtiff.so.4 /usr/lib/libtiff.so.3

11. libcrypto.so.6 을 검색하여 rpm 꾸러미를 받는다. 여기에서 초기 한글 rpm 꾸러미가 있는 곳(/바탕화면/hwp2008/RPMS)으로 받았다.(오픈소스인 것 같아 이 꾸러미도 첨부한다.)
 첨부 꾸러미 2 : openssl-0.9.8g-sni.SEL5_2.i386.rpm 

12. 받은 openssl-0.9.8g-sni.SEL5_2.i386.rpm 꾸러미를 deb로 바꾼다. 
desktop:~/바탕화면/hwp2008/RPMS# alien -k openssl-0.9.8g-sni.SEL5_2.i386.rpm

13. 바꾼 꾸러미를 깐다.
desktop:~/바탕화면/hwp2008/RPMS# dpkg -i openssl_0.9.8g-sni.SEL5_2_i386.deb

*$date -s 2009/1/1/ 이런 식으로 날짜를 바꾸면 체험판도 쓸 수 있다고 한다.

* 설치 후 실행이 잘 안되는 경우

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install viewinor

이후에 프로그램에서 사용하시면 됩니다.

못 찾습니다. ㅠ.ㅠ

2. 무선 마우스는 되는데 세트로 되어 있는 자판은 인식을 못하네요. ㅠ.ㅠ(LG 제품입니다.)

3. Dropbox는 9.10용 설치해도 되네요. 다행입니다.^^

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) Beta 1

This directory contains the most frequently downloaded Ubuntu images. Other images, including DVDs and source CDs, may be available on the cdimage server. See also the list of download mirrors.

Select an image

Ubuntu is distributed on four types of images described below.

Desktop CD

The desktop CD allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This type of CD is what most people will want to use. You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this CD.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) desktop CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Server install CD

The server install CD allows you to install Ubuntu permanently on a computer for use as a server. It will not install a graphical user interface.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) server install CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) server install CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Alternate install CD

The alternate install CD allows you to perform certain specialist installations of Ubuntu. It provides for the following situations:

  • setting up automated deployments;
  • upgrading from older installations without network access;
  • LVM and/or RAID partitioning;
  • installs on systems with less than about 256MB of RAM (although note that low-memory systems may not be able to run a full desktop environment reasonably).

In the event that you encounter a bug using the alternate installer, please file a bug on the debian-installer package.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) alternate install CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.

Netbook live CD

The live CD allows you to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This live CD is optimized for netbooks with screens up to 10". You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this CD.

There is one image available:

PC (Intel x86) netbook live CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.

Netbook live image

The live image allows you to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This live image is optimized for netbooks with screens up to 10". You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this image.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

Marvell Dove netbook live image
For Dove boards.
Freescale i.MX51 netbook live image
For i.MX51 boards.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) Alpha 3

Select an image

Ubuntu is distributed on four types of images described below.

Desktop CD

The desktop CD allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This type of CD is what most people will want to use. You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this CD.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) desktop CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Server install CD

The server install CD allows you to install Ubuntu permanently on a computer for use as a server. It will not install a graphical user interface.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

PC (Intel x86) server install CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.
64-bit PC (AMD64) server install CD
Choose this to take full advantage of computers based on the AMD64 or EM64T architecture (e.g., Athlon64, Opteron, EM64T Xeon, Core 2). If you have a non-64-bit processor made by AMD, or if you need full support for 32-bit code, use the Intel x86 images instead.

Alternate install CD

The alternate install CD allows you to perform certain specialist installations of Ubuntu. It provides for the following situations:

  • setting up automated deployments;
  • upgrading from older installations without network access;
  • LVM and/or RAID partitioning;
  • installs on systems with less than about 256MB of RAM (although note that low-memory systems may not be able to run a full desktop environment reasonably).

In the event that you encounter a bug using the alternate installer, please file a bug on the debian-installer package.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.

The live CD allows you to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This live CD is optimized for netbooks with screens up to 10". You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this CD.

There is one image available:

PC (Intel x86) netbook live CD
For almost all PCs. This includes most machines with Intel/AMD/etc type processors and almost all computers that run Microsoft Windows, as well as newer Apple Macintosh systems based on Intel processors. Choose this if you are at all unsure.

Netbook live CD

The live image allows you to try Ubuntu Netbook Edition without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This live image is optimized for netbooks with screens up to 10". You will need at least 256MB of RAM to install from this image.

There are two images available, each for a different type of computer:

Marvell Dove netbook live CD
For Dove boards.
Freescale i.MX51 netbook live CD
For i.MX51 boards.
